Club Uniform

Be part of the team spirit

At Icon Gymsports, we don't have a strict training uniform.  We want our gymnasts to feel comfortable and relaxed whilst training. We do not want parents to have to pay for a uniform when your child may have just begun.  However, we do find that children like to belong to a team so we do have a couple of special items that allow this to happen.  When your child moves into competitive levels and represents Icon Gymsports at  competition they must be wearing the relevant Icon Gymsports uniform.

General Uniform Requirements

  • No loose fitting clothing, jeans, skirts
  • No clothing with belts, buckles, zippers, pockets or studs
  • It is preferred that your child wears a leotard, with leggings or bike pants, shorts and a t-shirt are fine for boys
  • No shoes are allowed on the gym floor

Competitive Levels Training Uniform Requirements

  • Levels and Development Gymnasts must wear a leotard or a gymnastics crop top and bike pants.
  • No loose fitting clothing is permitted - if it is cold gymnasts are welcome to wear long sleeve leotards and leggings.

Cheerleading Training Uniform Requirements

  • Cheer athletes must wear club gear to training. They are provided with a team t-shirt at the beginning of the year, they may wear this or purchase another item they feel more comfortable wearing.

Competition Uniform

For all girls representing Icon Gymsports at any competition outside of the Icon Gym we have a Competition Uniform that is required to be worn by all competitors. This consists of a club tracksuit and competition leotard.

General Competiton Uniform Requirements

  • Hair is to be pulled neatly into a high bun with the club scrunchie. Hairspray and gel must be used to ensure there are no flyways or loose bits of hair.
  • Make up and glitter hairspray, whilst we are not  in the market of glitz and glamour, a little attention to detail can give the girls a competitive feeling.
  • Shoes, whilst shoes are not to be worn inside a gym, often many photos of the team can be taken outside, we request that girls wear white sandshoes, no ugg boots to be worn to competitions please.
  • Underwear, whilst it is up to the gymnast and how comfortable they are not wearing underwear under their leotards, marks can sometimes be deducted for underwear lines and straps showing on the competition floor.

    Selective Competitions

Some competitions across the year that your child competes in could lead to them being selected to represent the region or another team.  When this happens there may be another uniform cost incurred, such as the Level 1-3 participants being selected for the Northern Region team to go onto the State Competition will need to purchase the Northern Region Leotard and Fleece or t-shirt.  Prices for these uniforms vary and will be notified to you at the time of your child being selected for a representative team.
